A new m/v Hemus is joining NAVIBULGAR fleet
Today, March 23, the flag of the 32 000 DWT bulk carrier m/v Hemus has been raised at the Chinese shipyard Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding Co.
The godmother, Mrs. Marina Kobakova, CEO of ING Bank N.V. - Sofia Branch, gave this ship the name of a Bulgarian mountain that is very symbolic for the Bulgarians.

The ship is the 13th of fifteen bulk carriers from Kom series ordered by Navigation Maritime Bulgare.
Two more ships of this series are scheduled for delivery within 2026.
They will be named Sredna Gora and Stara Planina.
This is yet another confirmation of the consistent policy of Navibulgar management to expand successfully its positions by renewing the fleet.

Captain Nikola Todorov and engineer Dimitar Stefanov are her first master and chief engineer accordingly.
This successful team has already proven their skills in the delivery of m/v Sakar from the same series in 2025.
This vessel is the 3rd one in Navibulgar’s history named after Hemus mountain.

The flag of the first Hemus was raised on April 21, 1966 in Hakodate, Japan. She was a 9575 tdw ore-carrier. Captain Ivan Zahariev and engineer Vladimir Raykov were her first master and chief enginner.
The lady was serving in Navibulgar fleet from 1966 to 2006.
On June 10, 2008, the flag of the second Hemus was raised. The lady was a 42 704 dwt bulk carrier built in Varna. Her godmother was the Deputy Prime Minister Mrs. Miglena Plugchieva and her maiden voyage was under the command of captain Pavel Pavlov and engineer Yanko Yanev was her first chief engineer accordingly.
She was serving in Navibulgar fleet until 2023.
